Why Free Vegetarian Food Truck?
In a world seeking eco-friendly and cost-effective dietary options, vegetarianism emerges as a wholesome and palate-pleasing choice. Not only does it tantalize your taste buds, but it also nurtures your overall well-being. Vegetarian diets, rich in pro-biotics, promote healthy digestion, making them an ideal choice for individuals with compromised immune systems. Moreover, they offer a more economical alternative to meat, fish, and egg-based diets.
Our food truck, takes you on a journey through diverse vegetarian recipes from around the world. We are deeply committed to serving the Seattle community. Parked in the University District, on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, our free Vegetarian food truck extends a warm welcome to all, providing nourishing hot meals to those in need.
Our free food truck initiative took root in April 2018 and has flourished over three years. Today, we proudly distribute approximately 200 plates of wholesome goodness four times a week. Beginning in the University District, where many homeless individuals traverse the streets, we have witnessed the profound impact of our mission.
Buoyed by the resounding success of our pilot program, we are embarking on an exciting expansion journey. A second food truck will soon grace various Puget Sound neighborhoods, allowing us to reach even more hungry hearts.
It’s worth noting that our food truck operates under strict hygiene standards. While exempt from food inspection due to our charitable mission, we maintain a rigorous regimen of safety checks to ensure the integrity of our cooking equipment.
In these challenging times, our free food truck welcomes everyone, but it has proven especially beneficial to transitional homeless individuals, those with compromised immune systems, pregnant women, foreign workers with limited English language proficiency, and communities such as African Americans, Latinos, and migrant workers.
